25th Annual Pawcatuck River Duck Race Returns April 26th with Big Prizes and Family Fun

WESTERLY, RI – April 3, 2025 — The Ocean Community Chamber Foundation is set to host the highly anticipated 25th Annual Pawcatuck River Duck Race on Saturday, April 26, 2025, drawing thousands to downtown Westerly-Pawcatuck for a day of fun, fundraising, and friendly competition.

Beginning at 11:30 a.m., the event will see 20,000 bright yellow rubber ducks released into the Pawcatuck River, all vying for the finish line and a chance to win one of over 90 prizes. The grand prize winner will walk away with either a trip for four to Disney World, including airfare and accommodations, or a $2,500 cash prize.

Each duck can be sponsored for $5, with proceeds going directly to support more than 25 local schools and non-profit organizations. The event has become a major community fundraiser, generating over $60,000 annually for local causes.

In addition to the main duck race, families can enjoy bounce houses, games, food vendors, and more—making it one of the region's most family-friendly springtime festivals.

Businesses are also invited to join the action through the Corporate Duck Race, featuring oversized ducks and a $1,500 cash prize for the winner. Corporate sponsorship opportunities are still available.

Ducks can be adopted in person at the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce, 1 Chamber Way in Westerly, RI. Office hours are Monday–Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
